Abstract :
Summary form only given. In project scheduling the project manager has to make a decision that involves trading off decreased activity times against increased project direct cost. There is generally accepted that adding resources to selected activities leads to reduction of their completion times-and thus project completion time. Adding resources also means increasing activity direct costs. This shortening of activity times is generally referred to as crashing activity times. The time dependent relation between activity direct cost and duration being needed to completion of activity may be expressed by nonincreasing function
