Abstract
This study proposes and tests hypotheses that help explore the usefulness of combining and integrating several widely used manufacturing innovations on manufacturing performance. The manufacturing innovations studied are: technological innovation-using a variety of advanced manufacturing equipment; administrative innovation-using administrative techniques such as total quality management (TQM), cellular manufacturing (CM) and just-in-time (JIT); innovative workers-workers innovative enough to enhance the manufacturing task; and outsourcing-outsourcing specific manufacturing steps
