Abstract
The multi-frame coded aperture snapshot spectral imaging (CASSI) system senses the spectral information of a scene through a small set of compressive measurements. These measurements are structured projections of the scene obtained by applying a coded aperture pattern which determines the quality of the image reconstructions. Thus, the coded aperture is crucial in CASSI inasmuch as it determines the transfer function of the system. This paper presents the design of a set of spatio-spectral uniform multi-frame (SUM) coded apertures for compressive spectral imaging. Simulations show that the SUM codes provide higher quality image reconstructions with respect to the random coded apertures.
