Abstract :
In this paper, an incremental PD-type fuzzy logic controller is designed for a vehicle speed control system. Fuzzy logic controller can be designed especially for nonlinear systems with heuristic information to mimic human intelligence. In the proposed controller, the error of the desired output and system output, change of the error and rate change of the error are used as the input. Furthermore, the rules of the controller is designed similar to the sliding mode controller. Mamdani-type controller is selected as the inference mechanism. The vehicle speed control is applied as a case study. Different test signals are defined and simulation experiments have been performed to verify the efficacy of the proposed algorithm.
