Abstract :
This paper describes the design and implementation of a voice over IP system using Texas Instruments´ 2.4 kbps MELP speech coder. This system is being used to study the behavior of MELP over Internet and wireless channels. Of particular interest is the integration of MELP into the proposed Future NarrowBand Digital Terminal under development by the US government
