Abstract :
This paper is derived from the project “The virtual museum: a medium to recognize Tunja´s urban-unknown heritage”. The text briefly describes a proposal consisting in what was termed “virtual-eco-museum”, as it intends to combine features from the eco-museum and the virtual museum in order to communicate the unknown heritage of Tunja (an intermediate Colombian city), as well as to foster actions leading to increase the social appropriation and the preservation of such a wealth. In this process, constructions and sites from the territory were selected to be incorporated into a website where digitized representations of these physical elements, along with their stories, cultural values and associated behaviors are displayed throughout a virtual journey. This points to interact with the visitors who should provide new contents, contributions and impressions in order to help to recognize, value and protect both the real objects existing in the town´s urban area and the traditions linked to them. Particularly, it is highlighted a co-creation action carried out via this collaborative environment which aims to conceive options for one jeopardized object.
