Abstract :
Velarde Square is located in the center of the present city of Santander and is one of its emblematic squares. Its location registers within what is considered the city walls of the medieval town, although until today there was no physical evidence of this wall in this zone. The archaeological site consists of 450 m2 of the southeast corner of the square Intended Annex the portico space defined by the current building of the tax office space. The dimensions of the space that was allocated to the archaeological excavation consists of a rectangle of 30 meters northbound length and 15 meters in width westward from said corner of the square. The existence of a square in this space do not coincide at all with the urban morphology of the site in medieval times, because this area was deeply affected by the remodeling suffered by urban center Santander history after the fire occurred in 1941. In order to document all the structures that were appearing in the archaeological site, it was decided to use convergent photogrammetry techniques from digital camera images taken from a drone.
