Abstract :
This work describes and compares two compensation strategies for shunt active filters in circuits comprised by two phases and neutral derived from three-phase grids. In the “double single-phase strategy”, the active filter is controlled as a superposition of two single-phase filters. In the other approach, called “zero neutral current strategy”, the active filter is controlled to mitigate neutral currents. Both strategies are described and experimental results are presented to show the characteristics of each compensation strategy.
