Abstract :
This paper compares the effectiveness of two active islanding detection methods in multi-inverter configuration. The methods are based on frequency and voltage positive feedback. The Run-On Time (islanded operation time) is investigated in a typical residential distribution network arrangement, with different ratios of inverter power to load power. Performance degradation is observed in simultaneous operation of these methods, depending on how much power is injected by each inverter to electrical system. Simulations and the adopted models are supported by experimental results.
