Abstract :
In our study, we develop a road condition monitoring system using multiple sensor data based on Software Defined Network (SDN) for Intelligent Transport System (ITS). The road conditions on both normal and disaster cases are monitored and collected to the cloud server to provide in public through the Web page on Internet, but also exchanged between the vehicles running on the same road in realtime. SDN based communication method using cognitive wireless networks is used to quickly and widely transfer those collected to know each other the road conditions which they will go ahead the road. Multiple wireless networks are used to organize a cognitive network to improve the connectivity of communication for vehicle-to-vehicle communication. In this paper, the road condition monitoring system and its communication method are introduced. The system configuration and architecture and communication method are explained. A prototype system is shown.
