Electrical properties of matter

The subject of the Electrical Properties of Matter is so general and broad in scope that one reviewing it is immediately faced with the problem of what material to include and what to reject. In writing this section of the Digest, an attempt has been made to place the emphasis on the physical aspects of dielectric behavior and on the relation between dielectric behavior and structure. The various aspects of microwave technology are also stressed in view of the newness of this field and the growing interest in dielectric investigations at microwave frequencies.
