Abstract :
X-ray sensitivity of semiconducting polymer poly(triarylamine) (PTAA) based direct conversion X-ray detectors is determined for mammography application considering drift of charge carriers in the presence of deep traps. Using COMSOL Multiphysics 5.0, the continuity equations for charge carriers are solved considering proper initial and boundary conditions. For mammography, the calculated X-ray sensitivity of PTAA is 0.2690 μC/cm2R at an applied field of 10 V/μm. The X-ray sensitivity of amorphous selenium (a-Se) is also determined for mammography and compared with that of PTAA. The sensitivity of PTAA is found to be similar to that of a-Se at 10 V/μm.
