Abstract :
In this paper it has been showed that the Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) has been utilized in an inexpensive, reliable, flexible, and scalable manner for object detection and positioning. We have designed a system with 125kHz RF module which not only can detect the object but also give the actual position of the object. Radio signals are being transmitted and received by the reader after that the rotation angle of the reader measured. Getting the angle of two readers we are applying trigonometric formulae to get the distance from the baseline of the reader to the object. We present RFID-based spatial detection that compare favorably with other methods in terms of precision, promptness, consistency, scalability and budget. The developed prototype with its limited profile antenna can detect and measure the position of RFID tagged object behind an obstacle up to 4 cm which effectively verifies the methodology.
