Abstract :
In this paper, a comparison of two types of horn antenna technology for Ground ESM (Electronic Support Measure) is presented. For information, ESM requires great sensitivity in order to be able to receive a very small signal level, if the signals propagate via long distances. Referring to the studies described in the book with a title of Corrugated Horns for Microwave Antennas by: PJB. Clarricoats and AD. Olver, it was stated that horn antennas can have a high gain. Based on this research, the horn antenna technology will be used in our ground ESM. Not only considering antenna gain, this paper also consider dimension of the overall horn antenna. From the comparison of the two types of antenna horn, the circular corrugated horn has a smaller diameter compared to that of the convectional circular horn antennas. While, for the antenna gain, circular corrugated horn antenna produces a linear gain and its value is greater than convectional circular horn antennas.
