Abstract
On account of the fact that surgery cancellation has tremendously affected the operational efficiency of the operating room, an exploration of such factors have exerted an influence on the cancellation emerges as an important and worthwhile research. After data preprocessing, one-way analysis of variance and chi-square test were used on 9 potential factors. By means of statistics method, we come to the conclusion that surgeons, sequence of surgery, number of days after admission, surgery rooms, and cancelled before have profound impacts on cancellation, while patient gender, patient age, day of week, anesthesia were irrelevant to cancellation. Finally, explanations were given and suggestion were made to decrease the cancellation rate and to improve the efficiency of the operating room.
