Abstract :
Objective: To observe the nutritional support effects of calorie for senile chronic diseases. Methods : The 72 selected senile patients were divided into 2 groups, or the calorie restriction group and the noncalorie restriction group. Nutritional support was given by nasal feeding. The change of the nutritive index and the incidences of complications were observed in the 2 groups. Results: Hematochrome , serum total protein, serum albumin, prealbumin and other biochemical indexes showed no significant difference between the calorie restriction group and the non-calorie restriction group(P > 0.05). The incidences of nausea and vomiting, abdominal distension and diarrhea, inhalation pneumonia, hyperglycemia, hyperlipemia and other complications increased apparently in the non-calorie restriction group(P <; 0.05). Conclusions :The calorie restriction is advantageous to the prolongation of the patient´ s life time and postpones and reduces the incidence and progress of multiple senile chronic disease.
