Abstract :
We have since last year been designing a IR Micro Bolometer which aims to contribute to mitigate of natural disasters, e.g., wild fire, volcano, Earthquake, and so on, possessed by Indonesia. Triggered by Indonesia location as a part of ring of fire, the analysis of volcano activity has been become our mission after completing wild fire work. It was also supported by the fact that space-based sensors to detect and monitor volcanic activity are rare Using Planck´s Law for black body as a reference, gradual process analysis was being doing by initiating spectral radiance analysis for the 11 μ and 4 μ band. Then, the work was being covering the relation between temperature and radiance, Brightness Temperature (BT) versus Fraction Burn area, and Resolution versus BT versus Temperature difference. All review finally was closed by analyzing spectrum of pixel size of lava area. Data study literature in term of volcano rock type in Indonesia, several determination and assumptions were also applied in whole process. Our result represented by graph for each analysis shows that the 4 μ band is much useful and more accurate to detect Indonesia´s volcano activity instead of the existing band, 11 μ. Nonetheless, there is still a possibility using 11 μ as long as the spatial resolution is 180 km. This is because strong signal of lava in that resolution is produced by area of pixel 30 times less. Moreover, we also concluded combination of both bands simultaneously will make data to be much stronger.
