Abstract
To study the transient stability of the power system with large scale wind farm, the equivalent model is necessary to represent the aggregated dynamics of the wind farm. Since the mechanical dynamics of the wind turbine is usually decoupled by the power electronic devices, and the inertia of the generation system can´t be seen from the power grid. A non-mechanism equivalent modelling method is proposed in this paper. The transfer function based equivalent model is employed to describe the output dynamics of the wind farm. The parameter estimation method is also introduced. The proposed equivalent method is applied on a wind farm consisting 9 wind turbines, and simulations are performed to test the effectiveness of the proposed equivalent modeling method.
