  • Abstract
    We describe a new block matching algorithm (BMA) for motion estimation that takes into account the mean absolute-difference (MAD) criteria. The main functions of the BMA are analysed, too. To improve the performance of the estimation we increased the probability to find the real block displacement. The experimental results show that the proposed algorithm is very close to the full search algorithm in terms of mean square error (MSE).
