Abstract :
It is an important part for the power system operation risk control to identify the critical lines. To improve the identification accuracy, the indicator of active power flow betweenness is proposed in this paper. The actual distribution of the power flow and the capacity of each transmission line are involved in the model which is more comprehensible to the physical backgrounds of power system. At the same time, the effectiveness of the identification results is verified by the changes of system transmission efficiency that proposed in the paper with the out age simulation and cascading failure of the critical lines. The experiment on IEEE-118 bus system shows that a few lines with high active power flow betweenness play a vital role in the power grid. Continuous attacks on these lines lead to a sharp decline in the level of the power transmission efficiency. Thus, it is effective to identify the critical lines in power grid by using the active power flow betweenness.
