Abstract :
There are some transmission lines in China Southern Power Grid suffered from frequently typhoon in recent years. That is, typhoon will threaten power system´s safe and steady operation for long. It´s necessary to analyze statistically wind accidents in China Southern Power Grid´s Coastal Region, including Coastal Region in Guangdong, Guangxi and Hainan province. In this paper, the wind accidents of transmission line are systematically generalized and summarized according to different voltage classes, including trips, collapsed tower, broken line, damaged fitting, etc. The reasons are further and concretely analyzed from design, construction and operation. Then, The impact of two powerful typhoons "Ute" and "Usagi" to transmission lines are analyzed in detail. The results above will provide reasonable basis on reinforcing transmission lines against typhoon.
