Abstract :
Along with the construction and development of UHV project, the steel tubular towers have been widely used in projects of UHV transmission lines. In order to ensure the safety of live working on UHV steel tubular tower transmission lines, this article compares the electric field distributions around UHV steel tubular tower and angle-steel tower through simulating calculation; obtained the impulse discharging characteristics of various typical live working conditions through 1:1 steel tubular tower model test, and determined the safety distance for live working under various conditions; through impulse discharging test of both steel tubular tower and angle-steel tower, analyzed the difference of impulse discharging characteristics between the two typical structures. The research result can provide a technical support for live working on UHV steel tubular tower transmission lines.
