Abstract :
Recently DFIG-based wind turbines have become the dominant wind turbines for its mature control technology and high stability. And maximum power point tracking control strategy (MPPT) of DFIG-based wind turbines is very significant to improve the wind power conversion efficiency. This paper establishes the mathematical models of Doubly Fed Induction Generator, wind turbine and rotor side converter, designs the MPPT control strategy controller and the rotor side converter controller, and uses the double steps hill climb searching algorithm to develop the simulation model of DFIG-based wind turbines based on MATLAB/SIMULINK platform. Simulation results show that double steps hill climb searching algorithm is a good method to achieve the maximum power point tracking of DFIG-based wind turbines.
