Abstract :
The development of vector control brought renewal in the high-performance control of ac drives. In this paper the performance of indirect vector control of induction motor drive with Predictive Current Controller (PCC) is proposed and the performance is compared with PI current controller. The performance of PCC is not time consuming compared to PI current controllers, because there is no controller parameter to adjust. Here PCC itself generate PWM pulses. Hence separate PWM generator is not required. Problems due to non-linearities of the system are minimized by using PCC and hence the dynamic performance is improved. The duty cycle of voltage source inverter is calculated by classical Space Vector Pulse Width Modulation (SVPWM) method. It gives better DC bus utilization compared to sinusoidal pulse width modulation.
