Abstract :
Global energy scenario is on the verge of a crisis in the coming decades. Depletion of the fossil fuels, pollution and environmental hazards caused by large thermal and nuclear power stations etc is demands alternate energy resources. Harvestation of sustainable energy from in-exhaustible resources is the solution for this crisis. Renewable energy harvested from solar, thermal, wind etc in domestic sectors, even-though in small-scale is going to be a new age necessity. Almost 30% of combusted fuel energy in industries and automobiles is wasted as heat in exhaust gases. Re-harvesting this wasted heat energy as omnipotent electrical energy through thermo-electric generation is going to be a breakthrough in this field. This paper presents a three stage battery less boost converter for harvesting thermo-electricity in the medium level using TEG (thermoelectric generator). Hardware setup is implemented using TEC1-12706. Perturb and Observe MPPT method is used for reducing the temperature dependency of output voltage. Simulation is done using MATLAB/ Simulink environment. It has wider applications in automobile sector for reusing heat energy produced during fuel combustion.
