Abstract :
Summary form only given. In OTDM systems, separate channels at the same frame rate are multiplexed in time domain into a high-speed aggregate data stream. To access the individual time slots, high-speed all-optical clock division can be used to generate optical clock signal at the frame rate for time-domain demultiplexing. We build a numerical model of a mode-locked semiconductor fiber laser that uses a TOAD as an optical modulator and performs clock division. Moreover, we show that clock division operation can be realized when the SOA in the TOAD has a relatively slow carrier recovery rate
