Abstract :
Microstrip reflectarray antenna consisting of rectangular microstrip antenna as the feed and an array consisting of edge shorted rectangular patches, is proposed. Four reflect array configurations namely, 1 × 3, 3 × 1, plus-shaped and 3 × 3 arrays have been studied. A parametric study for varying distances between the fed patch and array of patches is presented. An optimum gain of around 8.8 dBi with bandwidth of nearly 160 MHz is realized in 3 × 3 reflect array configuration.
