Abstract
Analysis of proximity fed circularly polarized square patch antenna with multiple triangular notches is presented. The triangular notch tunes the spacing between TM10 and TM01 modes to yield circular polarization. Further a design of single triangular notch cut square patch antenna is also proposed which gives similar axial ratio bandwidth. The resonant length formulation at modified TM01 and TM10 modes for both the notch cut patches is presented. The calculated frequencies obtained using these formulations closely agree with those obtained by the simulation. Thus proposed analysis gives an insight into the functioning of notch cut patch and formulations will help in designing similar antennas at different frequencies.
