Abstract :
This paper introduces a novel heuristic search and optimization algorithm in order to find the maximum/minimum values of mathematical functions, by mimicking a certain community behavior seen in human beings. The intense search procedure in selected search areas followed by soldiers/policemen while capturing convicts/terrorists is followed here. Initial results obtained for some benchmark functions are reported. This algorithm has been seen to achieve significant improvement in efficiency, over several popular optimization algorithms in terms of the number of function evaluations.
