Abstract :
We measured and compared frequency chirp between a quantum dot laser and a quantum well laser. The chirp of the quantum dot laser was below 0.5 GHz, and it was much smaller than that of the quantum well laser. This is, to our knowledge, the first direct quantitative evaluation of frequency chirp in a quantum dot laser
