Abstract :
The main objective of this paper is to study the effect of temperature variations in Induction Motor on its transient behavior. Out of the several mathematical models available for Induction Motor, d-q model is chosen for the verification of the same, due to its enormous potential. Firstly, the d-q model is restated (Without considering the Temperature Variation) and then, the same d-q model is modified by considering the temperature variation effects. The proposed model is simulated and the performance parameters of a typical induction machine, such as, Efficiency, Power Factor, slip-speed characteristics are presented and compared.
