Abstract
In order to connect DC distributed energy resources to the main grid, an inverter is used. In this paper, the dual-buck inverter is used for grid connection of PV cells. Instead of IGBTs, the MOSFETs are used in this topology. Therefore, the switching frequency can be increased and as a result, the filter size is reduced. This type of inverter doesn´t need any dead time and hence, the short-through which is a major problem in typical voltage source inverters, is avoided and as a result, the system reliability is increased. The efficiency of this converter is higher than that of other IGBT-based converters due to less power loss of MOSFETs. The discrete vector space switching method is used as the switching scheme of this inverter.
