  • Abstract
A resource of knowledge based ontology to tropical region very important owned by Indonesia as one of tropical countries. Climate change often provide for human and the environment impact. Weather monitoring is needed to minimize the impact, so that supervision, appropriate measures and rescue operations can be performed. Monitoring the weather done by placing sensors in weather monitoring stations. Data monitoring stored on a data center, the utilization of these data into a source of knowledge would be very useful for decision support system that can predict the weather conditions in the tropics. The result of this research is an ontology dedicated to tropical regions. The tropical weather ontology used a source of knowledge ontological and non-ontological resources. Modularization ontology to be used in these modules will facilitate the reuse of modules for the development and maintenance of the system.
