Multiband monopole S patch antenna used for GSM, WiMAX and other wireless applications

In this letter, the proposed antenna has four frequency bands centered at 0.98, 2.8, 3.7, 4.7 GHz and has very a compact size of 30 × 40 × 1.57 mm³ including the ground plane and the above patch. Array of I slots are cut into ground plane of different lengths and S shape is cut into patch. Proposed antenna has-10dB impedance bandwidth of 1006 MHz (0.87-1.93 GHz), 600 MHz (2.54-3.14 GHz), 300 MHz(3.6-3.9 GHz), 300 MHz(4.5-4.8 GHz) which covers GSM bands, WiMAX and other wireless application. Fabricated prototype is also presented which has return loss of 8.42 dB at 1.70 GHz, 11.80dB at 4.247 GHz and 24.90 dB at 5.108 GHz. E plane and H plane radiation pattern are shown.
