Abstract :
This paper presents multiband split ring fractal patch antenna. The proposed geometry is based on square ring in which a slit is inserted on one side and finally the sides are replaced with the Minkowski curve. The proposed geometry is simulated in HFSS using FR4 and RT Duroid as the substrate material. The 0th and 1st iterations of the design are compared minutely in terms of return loss, bandwidth, vswr and gain. The designs are showing multiband performance ranging between 5.4Ghz to 19.2 Ghz. There has been a considerable improvement in Gain by using RT duroid than FR4. In terms of size the patch area has been reduced to 49.78% and 72.52% when compared to simple rectangular patch using FR4 and RT Duroid respectively.
