Abstract
Now a days there is increase in use of non-linear loads in commercial, industrial and in all such fields. Because of this, the harmonics are get introduced in the system. This causes severe damage to our system and hence it is required to eliminate the harmonics from the system. There are various reference current generation techniques have been discussed earlier. In this paper the time based reference current generation techniques Instantaneous P-Q-R theory (IPQR) and Instantaneous Symmetrical Component theory (ISCT) are discussed. The reference current generation techniques are stated theoretically and the performance results are simulated on MATLAB/Simulink platform.
