  • Abstract
The challenge facing the electricity supply industry in the deregulated era is to integrate their supply and demand decisions in a rational way so that consumers will continue to enjoy the levels of reliability of supply that they have in the past. The authors argue that, in order to do so, an efficient market for electricity supply must exist and all market participants (or their agents) must understand how to utilize the market to meet their individual needs.
