Abstract :
Based on voltage-current similarity theory, a new method to protect power transformers is presented in this paper. Using this method, characteristics and parameters of the power transformer and the saturation of the current transformer do not have to be considered. Transformer protection apparatus based on this method is shown to be able to be operated reliably and quickly.
