Abstract :
We demonstrate a new application of polyurea aerogels for efficient loading and uniformly slow release of insect repellents for lasting mosquitos avoidance. Loading of 6?10 times w/w was achieved for aerogel of 80?250 mg/cm3. Ultra-slow and uniform release rate of 2% of repellents per day was achieved, equivalent over 40 days release time, indicating a strong potential of aerogel for effective insect-repellent carriers.
