  • Abstract
    Two recently developed nanotechnology courses are described in the context of university general education requirements. The senior/graduate laboratory course is primarily focused on the preparation and properties of ultra-thin vacuum-deposited discontinuous gold films on glass, (i.e. the structure-dependent electrical and optical properties,) but also includes experiments in nano-silver sintering and carbon nanotube (CNT) percolation. The junior-level nanoelectronics simulation course uses LT-SPICE and functions as both an elective for ECE majors and a general studies elective for non-majors. Simulations cover basic circuits, CNT percolation, electron tunneling, tunnel diodes, single electron transistors, quantum automata, nanosensors and memristors.
