Abstract
This paper provides the case study of a placement courses program which integrated work scene learning into school-base learning discipline within the Department of Computer Science & Information Engineering (CSIE) at Chien Hsin University of Science and Technology (UCH), Taiwan. In order to respond to the major trends and challenges posed by current IT service business requirements, three categories of professional-oriented courses, common core functions course and internship, were developed to promote students employability and competitiveness. During this crucial period, interns were arranged to construct an information system with what they´ve learned in school. An information security protection system was implemented and related security controls were analyzed throughout the internship. It can be seen that students, teachers and engineer mentors all benefited from this internship project and this placement courses program contributed to level up workforces by promoting student employability and competitiveness for vocational college students.
