Abstract :
The assembly of micro-optical components is a delicate task. As the production numbers rise automation becomes interesting for processes which are nowadays carried out manually. For automated micro-optics assembly processes small sized and fragile components need to be handled on smallest surfaces, aligned in submicron precision and bonded with minimal impact on the alignment through the curing process. This paper describes Fraunhofer IPT´s approach for the implementations of fully automated assembly processes providing industrial level process stability for highest production yields. Focus is brought into the increase of repeatability of the bonding process, currently being the precision limiting factor.
