Abstract :
This paper presents a new method to obtain the rotor time constant of an induction motor used in vector control system. The method is directly based on the vector control strategy. By maximizing the output torque of a motor, a more exact rotor time constant can be acquired. Experiments prove that the performance of vector control system is better when using this time constant
