Abstract
In this study an equivalent circuit is proposed that permits the analysis of, or even the calculation for, single-phase, two-phase and three-phase induction motors. Through the theory of fields in quadrature, circuits can be obtained for the main and auxiliary winding, and with the theory of rotating fields the rotor circuit can be determined for particular cases. Parameters of the equivalent circuit are determined, and some particular cases are also analyzed: balanced winding, disconnected auxiliary and no-load starter. The principle for calculation is also described. Results for single and three-phase motors are presented
