  • Abstract
There is an upsurge for miniaturized antenna that covers maximum number of frequencies in the communication technologies. Fractal antennas have been pondered as a promising field due to space filling and self repetitive properties. In this presented paper a study is made on modified Koch geometry to obtain multiband behavior. It is observed that rise in each level of iteration, results in increase in number of resonating frequencies with improved bandwidth. The proposed antenna is of compact size with dimension 45×45×1.6mm3. Four slots are etched on the ground plane to improve the performance of the antenna at 9.32-9.35 GHz and 9.41-9.44GHz. The antenna is designed and simulated using HFSS software and fabrication is performed using screen printing etching process. The simulated antenna resonates at 7.1GHz (7.5GHz), 9.4GHz (9.32-9.35GHz, 9.41-9.44 GHz), 11.4GHz (8-12GHz), 13.4GHz (12.15-13.90 GHz, 15.45-15.59 GHz, 15.59-16.10 GHz, 14.4-15.35 GHz, 15.7-16.2 GHz, 16.46-16.60 GHz), 17GHz, and 18.2GHz (18-19 GHz) frequency bands.
