Abstract :
Software defined networking is a new approach to networking that aims to make data networks programmable, more flexible, easier to operate and manage, and better able to respond to the changing demands of applications and network conditions. This paper presents a low cost implementation of a programmable switch using OpenFlow v1.0. It can be programmed using pox to act as a hub, l2 learning switch, a l3 learning switch or custom traffic flows can be installed by administrator.
