  • Abstract
This paper emphasizes on the electrical efficiency of a system formed by the combination of PCM and TLSC using COMSOL® Multiphysics. We have incorporated Phase Change Materials in Transparent Luminescent Solar Concentrators which will help the concentrator to cool efficiently when they get heated due to solar radiation and heating in the Photovoltaic Material. If the phase change material is placed adjacent to the PhotoVoltaic Material at the sides of the slab which is used to harvest the electrical energy from the electrons emitted due to solar radiation. The heating due to its I2R losses reduce by large proportions. PCM, being able absorb heat at even lower temperature ranges, has been proven useful. This combination will be able to increase the efficiency of TLSC by up to 3% which is a significant improvement to the current 1% efficiency of TLSC alone. This combination of TLSC and PCM finds many applications such as making windows out of the TLSC which can be attached to the frames using the PCMs. It can be used in places which are required to be cool the enclosed system being considered. It can also be used in most places which require a transparent surface like cameras, cell phone screen, etc. By using this combination we will be able to produce energy without being aware of its presence.
