Abstract :
Ionosonde is High Frequency (HF) high power RADAR used to study the dynamic nature of Ionosphere which influences radio communication. Broadband delta loop antenna as transmitting antenna of Ionosonde for High Frequency range of 1.3MHz to 22.4MHz and peak power capacity of 1kW is designed and simulated in EZNEC Demo V.5.0. Observed Voltage Standing Wave Ratio (VSWR) of delta antenna is less than 2:1 throughout the frequency range. Balun is designed and implemented as an impedance matching network.
