Abstract :
This paper presents the performance comparison of boost and interleaved boost converter for Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT). First simulation study is done on PSIM platform and then hardware prototype of interleaved boost converter (IBC) and conventional boost converter (CBC) with the embedded MPPT controller has been developed. Incremental conductance (INC) MPPT algorithm has been used to track MPP in this work. The developed system has been tested for tracking the MPP of the solar module. The tests were conducted successfully and extracted data from the hardware prototype and simulation model are compared for the both type of boost converters. The performance of MPPT is compared in terms of tracking factor, steady state power oscillation and settling time.
