Abstract
This paper investigates the design and control of bidirectional interleaved DC-DC converter to assist the uninterrupted and reliable operation of load through battery storage system. This paper also discusses the advantages of interleaved converter over single phase converter. The implementation of voltage control loop has been preferred over current control to reduce the complexity. The number of phases of proposed converter can be easily extended to increase the power rating. The interfacing of the battery storage system with the DC bus of Microgrid has been put forward so that dynamic balance between supply and load is maintained. The DC-DC converter is made to act as a battery charger in one direction and controlled discharger in other direction. The proposed system is a part of Microgrid, a project initiated with the aim of establishing a Microgrid in the campus.
